A combo made in heaven.

When you hear California and then hear chicken and waffles what's the first thing that comes to mind? For me it has always been Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles. I wanna know who was the genius behind such a poetic marriage.

Though chicken and waffles are sold together, they are also available separately. The waffles are golden brown soft on the inside. Looking at them the look like ordinary waffles, but when you taste them....OMG! They have a hint of vanilla in the batter. A taste that is subtle but really makes all the difference in the world! And then there is the crispy golden fried chicken cooked to perfection. The inside is tender and juicy and the outside is hot and crispy. Just talking about it makes me want to travel to L.A for some.

Now Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles has so many other little treasures like their creamy Mac n Cheese. This side dish is to die for. When they first bring it to you, its in a small plate and really doesn't look all that great BUT......looks can be deceiving!  The first bite is such a contradiction to how it taste. The mac n cheese is so airy and lite yet full of flavor that brings you back to the home cooked meals your mom use to make for you as a child.

Now that I am back in New York, I really wish there was a Roscoe's here in the city.
